These leotard base patterns, designed by Travis Halsey, are the perfect start for any women's stretch project and are featured in his YouTube webinar videos. You can easily adapt these patterns to create custom leotards or leo dresses. The pattern has a back piece with fitting dart and a back seam, side front and center front piece which you can cut on the fold or with a seam depending on the design you are creating. The front princess seams can be easily eliminated and so can the back fitting darts. Having the center back seam is very handy as it gives you a perfect place to make adjustments at the performers waist and it allows the pattern to have an actual crotch seam which helps keep fabric in place over the performer’s glutes. Each pattern sheet you order has 5 different sized patterns on it. You are selecting a pattern group based off the performers back neck to waist measurement. Each pattern contains the bust and waist measurements listed below. Also note that these patterns may be printed 1/3 scale by changing the print scale to 33.3% if you would like to follow along with the YouTube videos.

You can print from home using the program, Adobe Reader. If you do not have this program, it is a free download available for both PC and Mac computers. Open the pattern file using Adobe Reader, go to "Print," and select "Poster Print." The program will automatically slice your file into as many 8.5x11" sheets of paper as needed to fully print your pattern to scale. Be certain you keep the scale of printing at 100%. Changing the scale will yield an incorrect size. Once printed, arrange the pages and tape them together. If you prefer, you make print your file on a large scale printer at an office supply store instead.
